Our Mission and Vision:
Provide no-cost meals to any person three times per week as well as provide other personal support items such as clothing and personal care items, etc.
Our vision is to provide assistance to anyone in need of a nutritious hot meal. Connecting with our guests, we can help them with other physical needs such as hygiene items, warm clothing, foot care and other essentials. We provide resources for help with mental, spiritual, financial or emotional needs. The soup kitchen strives to be a place where people in need can find a light of hope and compassion.
History
The Lebanon Soup Kitchen began serving hot meals on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, in 1989. Since then, we have never missed a meal. During covid, the number in need grew and our dining room was closed. We served hot to-go meals from our door, with cold take-out meals for later use. Currently, we have approximately 100 guests per night. Anyone is welcome for a meal.
Commitment to Community
We strive to work within the community we serve by being involved in resource fairs, networking with other non-profits and helping during community disasters. Our dedication was highlighted during covid and massive local fires. We were able to provide food to quarantined health workers and evacuated fire victims. We have been a center for distribution of surplus food items from stores, restaurants and organizations. We have in storage enough non-perishable food to feed thousands of people for weeks.
